Daddy's girls

These are my two kids, Payson (Gray) and Page (Black/White). They are just lounging on their favorite chair watching dad pack a bag. They hate it when they see the bags out. I will be missing a day on Saturday. On my way to Taos, New Mexico for the Solar Music Festival. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Safety first

I wonder if these came from yesterdays locksmith? This gate was in another part of town. When I saw them I thought it would be a fitting picture to compliment the lock shop.

Lock them up.

Not a terribly attractive building but the Blue color just caught my eye as I was driving by. The weeks half over, hope it's been good for everyone.

Look for some sunshine.

This art work was in the back of a pawn brokers store.

Reflections

This building which started as a bank building is down the street from where I live. I like the reflection of the clouds on the windows. Have a good week everyone.

Spiral of life.

And finally a picture of the museum and the grounds where most of the performances take place. All of this talk about the museum I just might have to take some time and visit tomorrow. Anything to stay out of the hot weather here.

50's maybe?

This highrise condominium complex is right next door to the museum. I believe it was built in the 50's or 60's. The people who live there have a great view of the front of the museums ground where alot of performances take place.

Gathering of the Tribes

This is one of my favorite sculptures at the museum right now. On the base of this piece is the name of the different tribes that are represented on the sculpture.

If you click on it you will get a better view of this sculpture. I could not find the title of this work. So I will be interested in hearing everyone's interpretation
of the work.

Yard art?

Don't think so, but it is displayed out in front of the museum. I like the woman in the backround.

Stone Native

One of the sculptures on the front lawn of the museum grounds. For the life of me I could not find the title for this sculpture. I will leave it to your interpretation.

Close to Spirits?

While shooting around the museum I came across this Native American man sleeping near a tree. Could it have been just a spot to sleep or the choice to be close to things made by some of his ancestors and wanting to be close to them? Happy Monday everyone, have a great week.

Walk way ads

These signs line the sidewalk to the museum. Nothing special but its a pic.

My Favorite place

This is by far one of my favorite places in the whole city. The Heard is well know for their Native American art collection. Not to mention they have great festivals here through out the year. Lucky for me I don't live too far from here. Have a great weekend everyone.

One of the first.

This is one of the first high rise condo complexes in the city. I am not exactly sure when it was erected but I know its been around since the 70's. As a kid I remember thinking "One day I am going to live there."

Living on top of one another.

As I pointed out last month there are more and more and more high rise lofts going up everywhere. This one is going up right smack in the middle of a historic neighborhood. Many in that neighborhood put up a fight but as you can see they lost the fight and the building went up.

Get there early

The Barrio Cafe has been rated one of the best resturants in the city. I myself have not been so I can't speak from experience. They have limited hours and you have to be willing to wait a while just to get in. I don't have that kind of patience. One day maybe.

Take a little ride.

Its Tuesday and I am ready for a road trip. Not sure what kind of car this was but I think it would be fun to ride around in.

Monday already

This is another one of our foster cats in our office. I think she has the same thought that I have, is it Monday already?

Messege of hope.

I saw this mural the other day and thought it would be a good post for today. This mural is on a wall of a parking structure for a mortuary. On the weekdays it is lined with people waiting for the bus.

Old sign,good food

Bill Johnson's Big Apple is one of the oldest and best BBQ places in town. I like the chicken the best. Hope you all have a great weekend.

High rise living

More and More they are building more high rise condos. I think they are trying to avoid urban sprawl. Its a little late for that if you ask me. The building trimmed in Red is one complex, the other is in the reflection of the office building on the right.

Goodbye my litte friend.

Is it really only Wednesday?

This is my new office mate Tucker and boy does he look like he's had a hard week.
I said it once and I will say it again, this is my favorite part of my job.

Not paying those gas prices.

We have very few choices here until the end of next year. You can ride the bus or pay the rising gas prices. Our light rail train won't be in operation until late fall of 2008.

Tune up and a Taco

Just in case you end up at this auto repair over lunch no need to fret. There is a Taco wagon right on the property. There are so many of these all over the city. Hot Dog carts too. Have a good week everyone!

Don't rear end this one.

I happened to notice the sign on the back of this truck with sitting in traffic on the way home the other day. Not very safe if you ask me.

Arizona is one month smoke free.

As of May 1st it is against the law to smoke in public places. You have to be at least 20 feet away from a door in order to smoke. So far one bar has a lawsuit against it.

Something old.

Sage is a great store for antiques. The owner gets alot of her stuff from small towns and sometimes from buildings that are being demolished. There is always something to be found here.
